meet the Jury

Ms Dita Charanzová,

Vice President of the European Parliament

Jury President

I look forward to seeing the new creative entries this year again. Participating as a Jury Chair to Care Awards left a strong mark on me. I an impressed at how such difficult stories, ranging from a large variety of topics, and their messages were expressed so effectively and effortlessly in just a matter of minutes. Communication is a tool that can have a strong impact, and not only in a business environment. The Care Awards recognise excellence in this form of communication to change people’s behaviour for the benefit of the consumer and society as a whole. Instead of drawing attention to a product, these campaigns highlight everyday problems that are too often ignored in a way that inspires action.

“All media must all take part in building a new world, respectful of the SDGs. This has been PUB’s commitment since 2018. Act Responsible has been encouraging us in this direction for many years. It is therefore a source of pride to work together hand in hand.

Philippe Warzée
Editorial Director, Pub.be

“There are many pitfalls in advertising: being provocative, misleading, sexist… However, when put to good use, advertising can be a very powerful tool. ACT Responsible emphasises how it can be used to defend worthy causes. Advertising is a weapon, let’s make use of it!

About the Care Awards

The European Association of Communications Agencies and ACT Responsible created this award in 2009. It aims to highlight the advertising industry’s contribution to society by awarding the most successful creative social and environmental campaigns.

The Care Awards includes ads for public health, the environment, sustainable consumption, public safety, disability, human rights, domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness, education and other similar topical issues.

The Care Awards’ jury is chaired by a member of the European Parliament and composed of NGO & institutions communications directors, creative directors, and CSR experts. In 2019, we’ve opened up the jury to CSR & marketing directors.
